Dynamical tests on the bell-tower of Santo Sepolcro church in Parma (01-15-08)

 

	The bell-tower of Santo Sepolcro church in Parma (1257) from some decades shows a growing inclination towards the street. Its dynamical response to the wind excitation has been measured by an interferometric radar sensor, see the pictures. From the comparison with some numerical results, these experimental data put in evidence the presence of cracks and damages at the base of the the tower.
